Mighty Ones

A number of supernatural ocean-dwelling beings who visited the host and Thomas Olney at the Strange High House in the Mist. Chief among then was Nodens, Lord of the Great Abyss. He rode in a shell upon dolphins’ backs and was accompanied by trident-bearing Neptune, sportive tritons playing conches, and fantastic nereids beating on shells. Nodens took the host and Olney for a ride with the Mighty Ones, and thereafter Olney appeared to have left his soul, or at least his imagination, behind with them. [HPL Mist (online text)]

Apparently a synonym for the Other Gods. According to prophecy, when Nyarlathotep returns to Egypt, "men would surely die, until at last none but true believers remained to welcome him in worship with the Mighty Ones from the gulfs." [RB Faceless]
