Yondath

An area and an empire on the planet Loth.

People said that man was born in Yondath, and later spread across earth's face.[1] Seemingly "earth's face" is here used as a reference to the surface of Loth.

A mighty civilization had flourished in Yondath after Lord Krang was sealed in his mausoleum, "and their colossal towers were greater than those of any who came after, and their accomplishments mightier and their gods infinitely more powerful than those of any people that lived in later aeons." Later, the area was covered with jungle.[1,2]

Yondath has swampy morasses. It borders on a vast jungle-land and a desolate plateau that once was populous and fertile.[4]

The jungle of Yondath included game animals such as elk, leopards, and mondals.[1,2] There was also a statue of a deity that was either female [2] or of neither sex [1]. Below it are caverns with mummies that come to life when disturbed, as well as the cave of Black Water. The hunter Loman once stumbled across this place.[2]

The capital of Yondath had an ancient palace above crypts, and a green stone idol in the marketplace. The court had an Emperor, richly clad servants, a mocking dwarf, and a head torturer named Malyat.[3]
